Venice Biennale 2019

Travelled to Venice for the first time to visit the Biennale, one of the most prestigious and cutting edge venues for contemporary art around the world . Was blown away by many of the artists. Here are a few of my favorites: Mark Justiani, Shakuntala Kulkarni, Anicka Yi, Yin Xiuzhen. Wish I could have taken all my students with me but I loved sharing what I saw when I got home. For me it's really important that what happens in the classroom is relevant to and connected with what's happening in the real world of contemporary art.
